Spending limits

What is spending limit?

Spending limit enables you to limit your daily loss. Once you specify a value for spending limit, the system will warn you whenever you cross your limit. This warning is given whenever you buy-in to a poker or casino game or register for a tournament and if the “allowed spend” value is crossed for that day/week/month. The warning is also given during rebuy/add-on transactions. Please note that the below applies only to the BorgataCasino software and games applications. Promotions may use different definitions to describe their promotions.

What is the definition of a “day” – 24 hours from the time I opt-in or a calendar day?

We define “day” as a calendar day, i.e., your daily limit is applicable from 00:00 hours to 23:59 hours, irrespective of when you enable it. Therefore, if you opt-in at 11:00 PM, your first day will be counted from 11:00 to 11:59 PM, and the next day will start at midnight (00:00 hours).

What is the definition of a “week?”

Week is defined from Sunday 00:00 hours to the following Saturday 23:59 hours.

What is the definition of a “month?”

Month is defined from first day of the month to the last day.

Can I opt-out at will?

Yes, you can opt-out of spending limit at any time. However, because of our stringent responsible gaming policies, there is a delay of 30 days before the limit is disabled.

How frequently can I change my spending limit?

You can change your spending limit value any time. Just go to the spending limit section and edit the value. If you increase the value, it will register only after 30 days, while a decrease will register immediately.

Can I cancel my limit-change request, once submitted?

If you have requested for an increase in the limit value, you can cancel this request within 30 days.

How am I protected with spending limit?

Whenever you buy-in to a poker/casino game, the system checks how much has already been spent in the day/week/month depending on your configuration. If the buy-in amount is more than the remaining “allowed spend” value for that day/week/month, buy-in will be blocked. A similar check is done when you register for a poker tournament. If the tournament registration amount is more than the remaining “allowed spend” value for that day (i.e., the day the tournament starts), the tournament registration will not be allowed.

While computing this limit, do you look at net spend or absolute spend?

We look at the net spend figure, i.e., the difference between win and loss. If your net spend for the day/week/month crosses the spending limit value, no further activity will be allowed for the remaining day/week/month.
