What is Baccarat?
Different Types of Baccarat

  1. Click on the chip stack located in the bottom right corner of the screen to select the desired bet amount.
For convenience, the value of the last chip clicked on the chip stack is held in memory (indicated with an arrow) and can be repeated without returning to the chip stack.

    Higher credit denominations: 1K=1000, 1M=1 000 000, 1B=1 000 000 000.
  2. Click the Player, Banker, or Tie section of the table to place your initial bet (Tie can be combined with either Banker or Player, but Player and Banker bets cannot be combined). To remove or change a bet, hold the shift key and left click the chip(s) in the Bet circle, or click Undo to remove bets one at a time.
  3. Click on the Deal button to have the cards dealt. On subsequent hands, you can use the Same Bet button to repeat your last bet. This will also auto-deal the cards.

The Player's hand will be dealt two cards and the Banker's hand will be dealt two cards. Third cards are dealt according to the rules detailed below.

Hand Values:

The highest total any Baccarat hand can have is nine. A two-card total of nine is called a "natural" and cannot lose. An eight is the second-best hand and is also called a "natural". If both the Player and Banker are dealt hands of equal value, it's a push (tie) and neither the Banker nor the Player hand wins.

Card Values:

Ace = one point

Face cards and tens = zero

All other cards carry the point value stated on the card. If the cards in a hand total more than ten points, simply subtract ten; the remainder is the Baccarat point value of the hand. Examples: 7+Jack=7, Ace+8=9, and 7+8=15, which becomes 5 in Baccarat. Below, the Player has 7 (7 + 0) and the Banker has 0 (3 + 0 + 7=10 - 10).

Sound Effects: This turns the game sounds (such as the beeps when you click on the buttons) on and off.

Dealer Voice: This will turn the messages such as "Player wins" on and off.

Ambient Sound: This will turn on the sounds of a normal casino, such as people talking in the background. (These sounds are very quiet compared to the other sounds.)

High Quality Graphics: You can uncheck this if you are experiencing slowdowns in play because of your computer's processing abilities. Note: Slowdowns in play can also be the result of Internet-related issues such as peak usage periods.

Fit To Window: Check this to stretch the game to match the size of the window.

What is Baccarat

Baccarat is a card game where you can bet on the dealer to win, the player to win, or a tie to occur. When you play online, the cards are dealt automatically.

During each hand, the player and the dealer receive two cards. In certain circumstances, a third card is dealt. Face cards and 10’s have a value of 0. Other cards have the single-digit value they show. If the total of the cards reaches double digits, only the right-most digit in the total is counted.

Some examples of scoring in baccarat:
• 7 and 8, total 15, results in a 5
• 1 and 8, total 9, results in a 9
• Ace and King, total 1, results in a 1

Whichever hand has the highest total is the winner – and if you picked it, you win real cash!

One thing that makes baccarat so attractive is that it’s a game purely based on luck. You can’t make mistakes – you simply choose to bet on the player, dealer, or a tie. Then, the result appears and you either win or lose.

A Quick FYI on Odds
To play baccarat well, it’s important to understand the odds. The dealer has a slightly higher chance of winning than the player, but the difference is around 1 percent.

If you’re starting off with baccarat and don’t know what to bet, try betting on the dealer! However, keep in mind that they payout may be a bit lower – the house tends to take a percentage of dealer bets.

A tie pays 8-1, which seems tempting, but ties happen only 9.53 percent of the time. As a result, the odds are far longer than 8-1, and the house has a huge advantage on tie bets.

Betting on the tie is a great way to add excitement, but be careful about getting greedy – you can lose quickly by making repeated tie bets!

Different Types of Baccarat
The basic type of baccarat is called “punto banco.” However, there are a variety of other types, as well.

EZ Baccarat
In EZ baccarat, the house doesn’t take a percentage of dealer bets – they simply pay 1:1 like player bets. However, a dealer result of 7 with three cards is a push, which means no one wins or loses.

This means that the house edge and casino take in these games is slightly lower. There are also two side bets available: Dragon 7 and Panda 8.

A Dragon 7 is a bet that the dealer will hold a total of eight points with exactly three cards. A Dragon 7 pays 40:1 and the house has a 7.61% advantage.

A Panda 8 is a bet that the player will hold a total of eight points with exactly three cards. It pays 25:1 and the house has a 10.17% advantage.

In Super6, there is also no commission on a banker’s win. However, when the banker wins with 6 points, you lose half your bet and get the other 50% back.

The house has a slightly higher edge in this variation, and the commission ends up being 5.87% instead of the standard 5%. However, players often prefer it because there’s less calculation and the payouts are straightforward.

Chemin De Fer
In this French version of baccarat, players are seated around an oval table. One player is named “the banker” and the others are “the punters.”

The banker bets first, and then the other players bet until the total put up by the players matches the banker. Then, two cards are dealt to the banker facedown, and two are dealt facedown for the punters as a group.

If either side has an 8 or 9, the cards are shown and compared. Otherwise, the punter group decides whether or not to take a third card. Then, the banker makes the same decision. Then, all cards are shown and a winner is determined.

If the banker wins, he takes the players’ bets. If the punters win, they divide the amount the banker bet, based on how much they put in at the beginning.

Chemin De Fer is an exciting game, but is rarely available except in closed clubs.
